Sein Großvater war Fluchtwagenfahrer, das Geräusch von zerbrechendem Glas turnt ihn an und er verkündet gerne seine starke Antisympathie gegenüber niedrig temperierten Geflügel-Delikatessen amerikanischer Fast-Food Restaurants. »Seriously, never eat KFC cold!« Ganz nebenbei produziert der junge Herr aus Brighton auch elektronische Musik – und die fühlt sich in etwa an wie Darth Vaders’ »Death Choke«. Bobby Champs kann Farben sehen und malt damit ein Soundgemälde aus Acid House und Future-Techno. Perkussiv, hypnotisch, stürmisch. Seit Anfang des Jahres ist er auf Pictures Music gesigned und hat vor kurzem seine zweite EP »Drag Queen« veröffentlicht. Subtil ist etwas anderes. Der junge Brite hat ein geschicktes Händchen für musikalische Eloquenz – Botschaften wie »Dance with the devil« im Loop über ungeschickte Kicks als Indikator von Brutalität, ausbalanciert mit grazilen Synthielines, Layers und hübsch zurechtgestutzen Vocalschnipseln. Und gewährt er einen Einblick in die Musik, die in beeinflusst.

This song was made the year I was born. I’ve heard stories of my dad and uncle going to raves and requesting this song.

First time I heard this it was like nothing I’d ever heard, and that’s still the case. A great track to make a crowd lose their minds.

At 52 seconds long this is the most powerful minute you’ll possibly ever experience. I’m a big fan of aggressive music.

7 – »13 Monsters« by Lightning Bolt

Noise. Lightning Bolt are pioneers of noise rock. Brian Chippendale is one of the best drummers alive with a rhythm that is unmatched. The limits of the bass guitar have been pushed to the breaking point by these two.
