The Unraveled Thread
All-Over Prints
Wearing any bit of fabric always means carrying a bit of history on you shoulders or on top of your head. Fashion reveals the state of culture, religion and politics. For individuals it always means having made a choice between this and that indicating something about their persona even if it’s superficial. And anti-fashion? That’s a fashion statement too. The Unraveled Thread takes apart one fashion element at a time to reveal its history and present meaning.

We take a thought and try to understand its origin and meaning. Sometimes just one vague anecdote or association will be explored other times this small line can take us much further: to heights and depths that might be hiding entire, unexpected worlds. The Crucial Question
In Goethe’s drama »Faust« the young girl Gretchen forces Faust to answer a rather uncomfortable question: is he religious or not? Really she wanted to know if he is involved in pre-maritial sex to ultimately discover if his heart is good and his soul is true. Our »crucial question« might not be so absolute but it will uncover one aspect with one photograph. No frills. Just one question.
