Universal Sound (Record label)
Universal Sound is a London-based record label specializing in rarities and re-issues. It is a sub label of Soul Jazz Records. The label focusses on re-discoveries of rare and obscure jazz music, but also released other records including the disco punk of ESG and the electronic music of E.M.A.K. Universal Sound often features artists that appeared on one of the soul jazz compilations with a full-length album giving listeners the chance to get to know them better. A lot of their released records are not available anymore as they’ve only been released in limited editions.
