Guadagnino will probably never make a movie about Brion Gysin, whose seminal contributions to art and literary history have been eclipsed by those of his frequent conspirator William S. Burroughs. Luckily, WeWantSounds put together a compilation of his Ramuntcho Matta-produced recordings made in the 1990s. On the 32-minute-long title track Dreammachine, the cut-up technique pioneer sets afrobeat and juju rhythms in motion to underscore his fascinating ramblings, while bonus track »The Door« sees Steve Lacy add sax to a surreal spoken-word collage.
