Sounds of freedom out of a dictatorship. In 1975, Brazilian trio Grupo Um recorded their début album in São Paulo, but couldn’t find a label. This was finally rectified at the beginning of this year. For the musicians, who also played in Hermeto Pascoal & Su Grupo, freedom went hand in hand with free jazz and Latin fusion, created on keyboards, bass, drums and berimbau. Whether with funk or research, they always made things energetic. A good start in every respect.
