Heith and Tarawangsawelas bring together very different soundscapes on Douri without smoothing them out. This gives rise to open, slowly shifting structures that bridge the gap between electronic music and ritualistic rhythms. ‘Pesar Satan’ feels like a reeling maelstrom of distorted sounds, fragmented beats and edgy layers of percussion, constantly rearranging itself without ever finding a foothold. That is precisely where its appeal lies: the album is ingeniously constructed, pulls you out of your comfort zone and creates an intense, almost trance-like atmosphere.
