JakoJako – Tét 41

JakoJako’s album Tết 41 is embedded in the sounds and smells of the Vietnamese New Year. As a half-Vietnamese, she processed field recordings of the Tết festival: voices, honking horns, the dense street life. These form the framework for technoid, modular tracks – as sound research and an examination of origin, identity, and longing. What was once noise is condensed into detailed sound art – authentic, sensitive, deep.
