Two double basses, two harps, layer upon layer of percussion and, of course, Kelan Phil Koran’s (Sun Ra Arkestra, The Artistic Heritage Ensemble) custom kalimba. African Skies has swept you off your feet in the most beautiful way; you lie there, gently enveloped by your own goosebumps, gazing in wonder right up there. Because that is the only place this music can come from – music that implores, conjures and unites.
