Within the vast discography of Miles Davis, there are, of course, albums that receive far too little attention – among them is Live-Evil from 1971. Despite its iconic cover and the incredible mix of jazz, groove, electronic elements and rock rhythms: ‘Live-Evil’ is in no way inferior to its two predecessors, ‘Bitches Brew’ and ‘Jack Johnson’. The limited-edition reissue on aquamarine vinyl for RSD Black Friday was long overdue. And it makes these recordings an experience even fifty years on.
