Music Excitement Action Beauty

Via Parigi • 2025

On Music Excitement Action Beauty, the trio JMB & Co. crafts a psychedelic sound rooted entirely in the motion of its sonic textures – music without climaxes, yet brimming with energy. Atmospheric drones, driving grooves, and subtle oriental motifs merge into a seamless flow in which tracks fade effortlessly into one another.

The opener »Rise«, featuring Brian Weitz (Animal Collective) on the hurdy-gurdy, marks the entry into a meditative sound world. The instrument gives the tracks their signature drone-laden undertone – a reflection of Weitz’s years of work at the intersections of psychedelia and experimental music.

With »Breakers«, the pace picks up: Jim Thomson’s (Gwar, Alter-Natives, Hotel X) drums push the rhythm forward, while Marc Minsker (Third Eye Lounge) lays down bass and harmonium lines that carry the hypnotic current onward. »Strange Planet« and »Metro 29« extend this movement – guitars, hurdy-gurdy, and percussion interlace into an ever-shifting pattern of vibration and rhythm.

The finale »Keep the Temp« gathers the album’s energy into a swirl of pulsating drums, shimmering harmonies, and interwoven drones that propel themselves forward. Music Excitement Action Beauty is less a collection of songs than an ongoing process – music that unfolds through motion.
