Noise-pop

Noise-pop is a subgenre of alternative and indie rock that, since the mid-1980s, has combined catchy pop structures with distorted guitars, feedback and elements of noise. Psychocandy by The Jesus and Mary Chain is considered an early reference point. The style later influenced shoegaze and parts of the indie rock scene.
