Nyabinghi

Nyabinghi is a spiritual form of ritual music within Rastafari. It is based on traditional drumming rhythms. It has been played at religious gatherings since the 1950s and is considered the rhythmic foundation of early reggae. Three-part drumming, call-and-response singing, and liturgical lyrics are typical. Important representatives are Count Ossie, Mystic Revelation and Ras Michael.
