Chakachas

The Belgian band Chakachas was formed in ‘58 and released numerous singles and EPs on the New York record label RCA Records until the mid-’60s. Consisting of the musicians Gaston Bogaert, Kari Kenton, Victor Ingeveldt, Charlie Lots, Christian Marc, Henri Breyre and Bill Raymond, the group played mainly Latin American music as well as a colourful blend of exotic sounds such as cha-cha-cha, mambo, rumba, twist and bossa nova. In ‘72, their eponymous album »Chakachas« was released on the Blue Elephant label and is still one of the most sought-after albums on vinyl. Their song »Stories« was even used for the soundtrack of the famous computer game Grand Theft Auto V. Soulgramma now presents the re-release of the »Chakachas« LP which is available exclusively in the HHV store from April 22. 200 copies of this popular disc are on sale in a translucent red vinyl limited edition.
