Sirens between red brick houses and prefabricated blocks. In between, a beat that slowly weaves its way through the British scenery: a punk that shouts truths into the wind, while the sampled voice of DJ Ell Murphy provides the stage for the contrast. ‘Mind’s a Lie’ is the new single from London band High Vis and the spoiler for their third studio album »Guided Tour«, which will be released on Dais Records on October 18, 2024. Escape forwards
Somewhere between dance track and post-punk and yet somewhere completely different. Like the character in the music video for the new single, High Vis moves into new territory with their album without being unfaithful to the old. It searches and finds at the same time. The sound is sharp, but the answer to the questions is soft: singer Graham Sayle describes it as a struggle between hope and anger: »Everyone is working all the time, and their idea of relaxation is to get high and escape reality. This album is an escape from that reality.« This breaks the DIY roots with a different, complex arrangement and bears witness to a new, bold era.
