Where rare groove and pop meet: The Japanese jazz trio Nautilus is coming on tour to Germany in mid-May – and every performance should be considered a small sensation. Because the band not only combines the above-mentioned genres in their sound, but also weaves funk, disco, soul and hip-hop into it at one point or another. And they do it in a quality that only a few bands can manage. Because with Nautilus, founded in 2014, it all happens quite naturally and incidentally.
Warm coolness
No fancy concept, just sound. Most recently heard on their new, seventh album »Revival«, which once again brings its own groove. In »Skyscrapers«, bass and synthesizer carry the whole number, in »Paint It Black«, the drums turn the Rolling Stones classic into a smooth little piece. Everything is always in the spirit of this warm coolness, this friendly composure. Eleven tracks that easily belong to the best the genre has to offer this year. And have even more vibe live.
