To make the importance of this concert announcement clear right at the beginning: Meshell Ndegeocello does not come to Berlin every day. If you believe the words of organiser J.A.W. Family (and we believe every word they say), it has been a whopping twelve years since the American singer gave a concert in Berlin, her birthplace by the way. On September 5, 2023, it will be that time again. Doors open at 8 pm in the Festsaal Kreuzberg.

She also has a new album in her luggage, for which she took almost ten years. »The Omnichord Real Book« was released by the former nu-soul pioneer on the legendary jazz label Blue Note and she was able to win over some particularly talented musicians for it. The pianist Jason Moran, the guitarist Jeff Parker, the vibraphonist Joel Ross, the harpist Brandee Younger, also Joan As Police Woman, to name but a few, but they are all considered the best in their field.

The concert will be performed by the then 55-year-old musician with Abraham Rounds (drums), Jebin Brun (keyboards), Chris Bruce (guitar), Kyle Miles (bass). Those who are still looking for excuses now, they don’t want to be convinced.
