With changing collaborators on guitar and drums, Delvon Lamarr has been presenting classics from Curtis Mayfield to Wham! in the instrumental style of Booker T. & The M.G.’s or The Meters since 2015, as well as his own compositions, which pay homage to soul greats such as Al Green, and exuberant, freely improvised jams. All this will get your hips tapping, your bad mood disappearing and a smile on your face – a groovy dose of nostalgic escapism is more than deserved in these difficult times.
