For a weekly performance in the Luis-Enrique-Erro planetarium of his hometown Mexico City, guitarist and composer Eblen Macari wrote a piece of music in 1987. For this purpose he used the synthesizers Ensoniq -1 and Korg Poly 800, two guitars and an ocarina, a round tone flute. »Musica Para Planetarios« was the logical name of the album, which was released soon afterwards and was supplemented by percussions and a baroque harpsichord. Brandon Hocura’s label Séance Centre has re-released this record from the original tapes. And what else can I say but »thank you«? »Musica Para Planetarios« is a new discovery. Like the universe, it is filled with incredible power. It’s music similar to a tree that knows everything and betrays nothing. Starting with the eleven-minute »Planetarios Suite«, which is like the glow of the stars themselves, through the flashing »Supernova En Macuspana«, a sketch that is in the making, and »La Constelacion del Pejelagarto (Bambuco)«, which unites the future and the past, to the guitar pieces »El Grito De La Luvia« and »Lux Aeterna«, which fluctuate between physics and metaphysics, life and death, this slim album is nothing less than a condensed cosmology. Absolutely worth listening to.
