Akiko Yano (born 1955 in Tokyo) is a Japanese singer, composer and pianist. She combines jazz, pop, electronica and traditional Japanese elements in a unique style. Her international breakthrough came with Gohan Ga Dekitayo (1980), which also featured the Yellow Magic Orchestra. In addition to her solo career, she has worked with Ryuichi Sakamoto, Pat Metheny and Steve Jansen, among others.
