Dan Charnas

Dan Charnas is an American publicist from Los Angeles. He is considered to be one of the pioneers of the Hip hop journalism, e.g. he was one of the first authors for The Source. From 1991 he worked as A&R and in marketing of the rap department of Rick Rubin’s Def Jam sublabel American Recordings. He founded and led a yoga journal (Aquarian Times) and an online magazine about dating and relationships (Profile Magazine). Though the focus of his publications is on the topics culture, race and politics, published in Washington Post, New York Press or on HuffiingtonPost.com.
