Ghetto Brothers

Ghetto Brothers are a Puerto Rican gang and band from New York City, founded in 1964. They have been a big influence for Hip Hop apologists like Afrika Bambaataa. In 1971, when gang member Cornell »Black Benjy« Benjamin was killed in the course of band rivalries, the gang didn’t react with counterplots but with the use of instruments. Back then, Bambaataa was witness. This incident can be seen as starting point for the Hip Hop philosophie, which was manifested by Bambaataa.
