Gunter Hampel

Gunter Hampel (b. 1937) is a German jazz musician from Göttingen. He lives and works in Berlin and Göttingen. He is a composer and a virtuoso player of several instruments including vibraphone, saxophone, flute, piano and bass clarinet. He performed with artists like Anthony Braxton, Marion Brown, Arjen Gorter, Willem van Manen and Willem Breuker. He also composed film music and runs his own record label, Birth Records.
