Kindred Spirits

Kindred Spirits is an Amsterdam-based record label for jazz, funk, soul and hip hop music, founded in 2003. The record label emerged from a series of parties of the same name in Club Paradiso in Amsterdam. The residents at those parties were DJ KC the Funkaholic and DJ Leroy who used to spin groove-based records. Over the years they’ve invited more and more guest acts including Phil Asher, DJ Spinna & Bobbito, Jimi Tenor, Kirk Degiorgio und Vanessa Freeman, Leroy Burgess and Viktor Duplaix. The visuals in the club (and later on the artworks of the records) were done by the Dutch graphic designer Machine. In 2003 the party they went on tour and they took that opportunity to promote the recently founded label. The tour took them from New York to L.A., from Tokyo to Helsinki to London and built up the fan base and the artist roaster the Dutch label profits from till this day.
