Lehult Records

Lehult Records is a German record label from Hamburg founded in 2014 by the producers and DJs Liem, Eddie Ness, DJ Assam, Johan Kaseta and Lucky Charmz. Lehult goes back to old friendships, which at some-point resulted in creative cooperation. »We all began pretty much at the same time to produce music and hang out and were always in communication with each other« they say. »We pushed ourselves, to become better, mutually remixed, vexed – it all belongs to it.« At some-point the members especially wanted to listen to their own tracks on vinyl, which they were able to realise in 2014 with the help of their friend Valle who in the meanwhile became the team’s booking agent. As the label accepts stylistic diversity outside of their core-business of soft-flurry house, hip-hop beats and ambient pieces are also in the programme; in 2015 the LHLTSUB series was added to their programme, which according to their own statements specialises in »straight, uncomplicated edits with a focus on the dance floor«. These are small compromises, which the clique also discloses to the public. Ultimately they want to push through their own thing and are pleased about positive feedback. Having established a house-evening in the Hamburg Techno club P.A.L and having attracted attention to their whole back catalogue with their first LHLTSUB publication – a split-release between Liem and Lucky Charmz, which in 2015 mutated into an underground hit – is almost already enough reward. Although they have since then experienced an increased influx of promos, which is also a reason for joy, the clique would rather stick to one another. »a place / a thought / a sound« says the motto, which directly refers to the Swedish town Lehult where the friends are regularly drawn back to for producing and which can also be found as holiday snap shots used for their artwork on otherwise quite basic presented releases. Behind the creative collaboration, there are essentially still old friendships, which the label helps to nurture.
