Out-ER

Out-ER (Out Electronic Recordings) is a label from Lecce, founded by Simone Gatto and Andrea Santoro in 2011.
The two producers’ detour to Berlin was an important stage in the development of the label, where for two years they rented a studio and began networking in the Berlin nightlife. The first eight releases of Out-ER were sourced from the immediate vicinity of the two Italians, who also publish themselves on the label. In the meantime the lineup has really expanded. The Dutch techno legend Orlando Voorn regularly releases there; Juan Atkins, Legowelt, Conforce and Efdemin also contribute remixes. From a creative, self-expression seeking clique they turned into an international issue. It’s no wonder because the core of Out-ER is driven by great ambitions. “I see the things how they are and ask myself: why? I see the things how they never were and ask myself: why not? ” summarises Simone Gatto the motto of his imprint.
So that explains the name of the label, which points out, that the mixture in electronic music of ambient, house and techno-releases are nevertheless located outside of trends. More important to Out-ER than delivering the perfect club hit is to look into the depths of the material; each publishing is accompanied by a workshop which takes an almost scientific look at music and it’s psychological bearing. “For me this label is not merely a label but a platform on which you can express your musical and individual identity.” says Gatto about Out-ER where a multitude of musical positions merge. Besides raw sounding jams of The Analog Cops and Colours of Observation (Christopher Rau und Marieu from The Analog Cops) Gatto and his partner Santoro (as Santorini) chip in more shallow sounds. It is a colourful, yet thought through mixture which represents the ambitious label.
