Poets Club Records

Poets Club Records is a record label from Hofheim im Taunus, founded by J. Peter Schwalm in 1997 and taken over by Christian Kessler in 2000. Poets Club Records was very quickly after foundation known in the fields of electronica, nu jazz and drum ’n’ bass. The project Slop Shop of label head J. Peter Schwalm soon attracted attention of various musicians like Brian Eno, Peter Kruder or Ryuichi Sakamoto. Inter alia this resulted in a joint appearance with Brian Eno, Holger Czukay, bass player Raoul Walton and drummer Jem Ata in the art and exhibition hall in Bonn. Also after changing the head of the label, Poets Club Records remained faithful to its policy that revolves around the keyword »unique« and published releases of 7 Samurai, Gilles Peterson’s Havana Cultura band or Dunkelbunt.
