Roy Haynes
Roy Haynes (1925–2024) was a legendary American drummer from Roxbury, Massachusetts. He played with greats such as John Coltrane, Miles Davis and Charlie Parker. Known for his unique style, he combined bebop, post-bop and experimental sounds. As a bandleader, he released the albums ›Out of the Afternoon‹ (1962), ›The Roy Haynes Quartet‹ (1967) and ›The Hip Ensemble‹ (1971), among others.
