Berlin’s techno legend Boris plays a two-hour DJ set at the HHV Store

14.08.2024

To call Boris Dolinski a legend is no understatement. He knows the Berlin techno scene like no other and the techno scene knows him. Boris was a resident DJ at Berghain from day one. With his work for the legendary record store Hardwax and the distributor Handle With Care, he made sure that techno and house were available on vinyl for the DJs of the local scene.

But the 62-year-old’s background goes back even further. Born in Neukölln, he had his first encounters with the club scene in the late seventies. By the mid-eighties, Berlin had fallen asleep. But Boris was still on the road, first in Barcelona and from the mid-eighties in New York. He attended one or two of David Mancuso’s loft parties. During his regular visits to the Paradise Garage, he studied the craft of Larry Levan, whom he describes as a kind of mentor, even though he never met him in person. In 1990, he returned to Berlin, met Marc Ernestus, who had just opened Hardwax, and the story took its course.

Well tuned

So we are very happy to welcome Boris on August 22nd, 2024 from 6 to 8 pm for a two hour DJ set at our HHV Store in Grünberger Straße in Berlin-Friedrichshain. Come by, it will be great! For more information and impressions about Boris, check out our 15-minute interview with him.
