This is how you celebrate an anniversary, dear jazz heads. This is also how you throw a farewell party—though in this case, it’s actually just a pre-renovation party for Hamburg’s Kampnagel complex. The Überjazz Festival turns 15 this year. And wow, just look at that lineup. On October 31 and November 1, 2025, there’s really no better place to be.

Since its beginnings, Überjazz has stretched the term »jazz« to include soul, hip-hop, and ambient. It’s never been stuck in the past—it’s always been a festival for tomorrow.

Legends, and Those on the Way There

This year’s bill includes Soulquarian Bilal, legendary alto saxophonist Gary Bartz, and the inescapable Alabaster DePlume, whose sound remains as enchanting as ever. Jazz visionary Angel Bat Dawid is flying in from the other Windy City.

There are two more acts that the HHV editorial team is particularly excited about: R&B singer keiyaA, who released Forever, Ya Girl, one of the strongest R&B albums of the last five years, and is now presenting new material. And yes, the great, the magical, the ever-uplifting Kahil El’ Zabar is returning—with his great and magical Ethnic Heritage Ensemble in tow.

And there’s more! The best thing to do is to check out the Überjazz website.
