Cabaret Voltaire in Berlin in June – possibly for the last time

»Cabaret Voltaire was always about breaking new ground and moving forward. It would be so sad to see it as a nostalgia act!« With these words, Richard H. Kirk, founding member of the British electronic dance music pioneers Cabaret Voltaire, once responded to the question of a reunion in the original line-up. Kirk died in 2021. Since 2025, however, Cabaret Voltaire have embarked on what is billed as a final tour – with the remaining founding members Stephen Mallinder and Chris Watson. On 2 June 2026, Cabaret Voltaire will perform as part of their last European tour at the Silent Green Betonhalle in Berlin.

By no means backward-looking

Kirk’s iconic stage presence is, of course, absent. Yet the current shows prove to be concentrated, high-energy renditions of an exceptional body of work. The setlist includes classics and scene staples such as »Nag Nag Nag«, »Crackdown«, »Just Fascination«, »Do Right«, »Sensoria« and »Yashar«, delivered with driving force and that slightly static, machine-like stance that has long defined Cabaret Voltaire.

Mallinder takes on vocal duties – pared down, focused, controlled. Funk-inflected grooves, experimental electronics and spoken-word samples feel anything but retrospective. The sound remains distinctive and open: Cabaret Voltaire live is not a nostalgic glance backwards, but a consistent continuation of their original approach.
