She is one of the greatest contemporary jazz musicians, at least in Europe, and extremely active: Muriel Grossmann has released album after album in recent years and has played all over the world, sometimes up to 150 concerts a year. Grossmann’s main instrument is the saxophone, in all its variations. Her sound is rooted in the tradition of spiritual jazz, with John Coltrane as the most reliable point of reference. Last year, Muriel Grossmann lifted Cologne’s King Georg into another dimension with this music. The live recording of the concert is now available. »MGQ live at King Georg, Cologne« will be available from 5 March 2025.
At the PowerHouse of jazz in Cologne
The release is also the first release from a new Cologne-based label, Power House Records. The label is already inviting people to a listening party at the birthplace of the album on 21 February 2025. Muriel Grossmann has been performing in the quartet with Radomir Milojkovic (guitar), Abel Boquera (keyboard) and Uros Stamenkovic (drums) at the atmospheric venue on Cologne’s Ebertplatz for over a year.
An exclusive limited edition of the album will be available on transparent green vinyl only via HHV Records. The beautiful cover artwork by artist Tom Król will of course remain.
