Knekelhuis again? Yes! Because spring is here. At least for about 20 minutes, when this EP from the turntable even the stuffiest living rooms in sun-drenched forest glades. Two years ago Ssiege released »Fading Summer«, a brilliantly noisy and yet little-noticed debut via YOUTH, which lived up to its title and wonderfully poured the lukewarm days of mid-September into sound. But for the time being, the cassette was only granted to experts of dim emotronics (they say there are), who were fast enough on Bandcamp and still walk around with Walkman, apart from questionable trends – because Hiss is’ simply cool. Fortunately, the five tracks of »Meteora« hit exactly the same note of reservedly euphoric warm weather tracks, with which the transition into a promising summer or optionally into a golden autumn can be successfully arranged – far away from the socio-cultural madness of the present. After all, everyone needs a timeout from the world at some point, right? The sparkling syntharpeggios in »Il Re Delle Mandorle«, the dreamlike wavering of the melodies of »Il Peso« or the Casio leads of the title track reminiscent of Danny Wolfers do the job very reliably in any case, even in lousy weather. Knekelhuis once again!
