James Brandon Lewis

James Brandon Lewis (b. 1983 in Buffalo, New York) is an American tenor saxophonist, composer and a key voice in contemporary jazz. Shaped by gospel music, he studied with mentors such as Charlie Haden and Wadada Leo Smith. His breakthrough came with Divine Travels (2014); ever since, he has been recognized for his spiritually charged and expressive saxophone style.
