Jimi Hendrix, born on 27 November 1942 in Seattle, died on 18 September 1970 in London, was an American guitarist, singer and songwriter. He had a decisive influence on the use of the electric guitar in rock music in the late 1960s, notably with the album Are You Experienced (1967) and his band, The Jimi Hendrix Experience.
