Naomi has lived in Berlin for almost 15 years. After graduating from high school, she moved from Hanover to the capital for an internship at Universal Music. Later, she completed an apprenticeship as an audiovisual media specialist at a film production company and started DJing soon after. She gained her first experience in the DJ booth at her brother’s and then boyfriend’s house parties. In 2016 she took part in a vinyl course led by Ena Lind, which was a key moment for her. She has been traveling with vinyl ever since: »I learned on vinyl, and there’s just a completely different connection to the music.«
Today, Naomi is regularly behind the decks in clubs, curating bookings and producing her own event formats. Under the name Nice 2 Be Nice she organizes parties with her “gang” at Berlin’s Club Ohm and hosts a radio show on Refuge Worldwide. In the beginning, Nice 2 Be Nice was a loose collective of friends, but now it’s a curated format with a clear message and growing visibility in the scene.
Connected on the Dancefloor
Naomi experienced one of her key musical moments through her father: as a teenager, she was given St. Germain’s style-defining Boulevard, a mix of deep house and jazzy sampling. »That shaped my musical path,« she says looking back. That influence can still be felt today. Groove, warmth and depth merge in her sets, with the focus always on connection. »It’s inspiring how people come together on the dance floor, regardless of language or background, and just be together for a moment.«
