Berlin, hey! Ak’chamel are coming. The Texan duo have never been to Germany before, but boy, they’re needed! Their ritualistic world tribal music fills the hollowed-out inner passages, washing away all the weariness, all the coldness, all the emptiness of everyday life from January to April. Instead: dance with the dead, spiritual expansiveness. Ak’Chamel can do that. Get there fast. Berlin, on 25 April, at the Galiläakirche.
Revive weary spirits
Ak’Chamel made a name for themselves with The Totemist, released in 2020 on Akuphone. Plagues, shamanism, hunting cultures, sacrificial customs – the masked band evokes all of these things with their songs. You feel somewhere between Earth, Stereolab, Black Merlin and Sunn O))) in the most intoxicating way. This is music that calls up spirits—and so in the end, of course, appeals very strongly to the body. Please only attend if you have been recently vaccinated against the plague.
