In 2016, the Seth Applebaum-led combo Ghost Funk Orchestra released two EPs, “Night Walker” and “Death Waltz,” which combined Latin-esque percussion, strange time signatures, ’70s spring reverb, and Spanish-language female vocals. The two releases, documenting the band’s early days, were initially released only on cassette. On August 12th, 2022, »Night Walker/Death Waltz« will be released remastered and for the first time on vinyl LP via Karma Chief. The Red Vinyl Edition is available exclusively in the webshop of HHV Records.
For love of Latin Jazz and Salsa
Seth Applebaum founded Ghost Funk Orchestra in New York in 2014. The band stands for a diverse mix that cannot be pinned down to a specific genre, but combines influences of soul, psych-rock, funk, Jazz and Surf. Seth Applebaum initially started Ghost Funk Orchestra as a solo project to live out his love for Latin jazz and salsa. In the meantime, however, the one-man show has developed into a ten-piece live band, with various friends as well as his brother Julian Applebaum joining the project.
