Sample Music Festival 2024: What does Music sound like on other Planets?

02.07.2024

The Sample Music Festival (SMF) is back! From July 10 to July 14, 2024, Berlin will once again become a hotspot for music lovers. Since its inception in 2015, SMF has become one of the most popular events in urban music culture and is now expanding its borders to the whole world. This year’s theme is »What does music sound like on other planets?« – and visitors can look forward to intergalactic performances and a variety of talks.

Hands-on music

The program for Sample Music Festival 2024 is an eclectic mix, ranging from digital live performance, studio production and songwriting to valuable career advice for musicians. There will also be the latest music technology, interactive jam sessions and workshops for aspiring musicians. There will also be competitions where artists from around the world can show off their skills (such as the DMC Scratch Battle or the Finger Drumming World Championships).

The venues are all located in Berlin-Kreuzberg and on the R.A.W. site in Berlin-Friedrichshain: House of Music, Noisy Rooms, HHV Store, BIMM University, K-Pax and Lighthouse provide the perfect stages for the event. The full program for the SMF can be viewed here.

Showcase at HHV Store

On the occasion of the Sample Music Festival, a showcase will take place on 11 July 2024 from 5 pm in our HHV Store in Grünberger Straße in Berlin-Friedrichshain. There will be an extravagant finger drumming performance in front of and inside the store, our sneaker wall will become a sound installation and other exciting activities that make music a haptic experience.
