Swedish composer Sven Wunder will release his new album Daybreak on 26 September 2025 via Piano Piano Records. A trained double bassist and son of a jazz drummer, Wunder is known for his filmic, orchestrated approach — this time turning his ear to the transition from night to day.

Between stillness and awakening

Wunder first gained attention with the eclectic Doğu Çiçekleri (2019), an amalgam of Anatolian rhythms, pop-jazz grooves and finely balanced arrangements. The surprise success made the Rare Groove enthusiast an international name. With Daybreak, his fifth album, he continues this journey, revisiting the motif of renewal.

The new compositions are arranged for flute, percussion, brass and strings. They unfold an organic interplay between calm and momentum, evoking the fragile mood of early morning — music that captures the instant when the sun cuts through the mist and a new day begins.
