According to Hegel, nature stands in an instrumental relationship to man, who uses it solely for his own purposes and needs. The fact that the practical use of nature and the mastery over it will assume destructive proportions, which will increase in the 21st century to such an extent that nature, the earth and its existences will be permanently threatened all over the world, is something that Greta Thunberg is currently keeping in mind. Slowly every single one of them is checking how fucked up everybody is. What does this have to do with Borusiades new album? Well, »Fortunate Isolation« delivers the perfect soundtrack of decay to the present. Miruna Boruzescu has instrumentalized the instrumental relationship in a particularly moving way. However, the Romanian synth composer sets a good portion of optimism to music in the times of decay, wrapped in dark wave garb. Here, auspicious isolation means the selfless removal of man from his home planet to give room to something new. Thus Borusiade sings, lamenting, with a melancholic look at the world: »Fortunate isolation works for me as I stand / to create contribution / to whatever this might lead«. From the observing position there is nothing »to believe in« on the home planet. Man is and remains »a soul on a time line«. – »Entropy creates a time-line but also a transformation – a new beginning«, says Miruna. The dreary but hopeful sound complexes fit like a tree in the earth to Dark Entries and create a stirring connecting line between the elegic Synth Wave of the seventies and the eighties.
