Fernweh

Black Truffle • 2025

The Paris-based French-Swiss composer constructs an atmosphere from just a few sonic particles—an atmosphere that lays claim to silence: majestic, timeless, fragile—and in its fragility, monumental. This sound unfolds across two long pieces, never drifting into distance despite all its abstraction. Moments emerge that resonate emotionally, even comfortingly.

Fernweh is a restless search, a wandering through formless terrain. The title itself sets the direction: This is a journey toward a place without structure, without plan—only sound. And in the end, there is silence. And the echo of that static with which it all began.
