Herbie Hancock (Herbert Jeffrey Hancock, b. 1940) is an American jazz pianist and composer from Chicago, Illinois. From 1964 to 1969 he formed together with Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, Ron Carter and Tony Williams Miles Davis’ Second Great Quintet.
