Moor Mother (b. Camae Ayewa, 1981 in Aberdeen, Maryland) is an American musician, poet and activist from Philadelphia. In addition to her solo work, she is part of the free jazz collective Irreversible Entanglements and the duo 700 Bliss with DJ Haram. Her work moves between experimental hip-hop, spoken word, noise and free jazz, combining political lyrics with radical sound aesthetics.
