Verses GT

Two established figures of modern electronic music join forces for their first collaborative album: under the name Verses GT, Canadian producer Jacques Greene (Philippe Aubin-Dionne) and LA’s Nosaj Thing (Jason Chung) deliver a ten-track mosaic.

Both have long been established as solo artists—Greene most recently with ANTH01 (2021), Nosaj Thing with Continua (2022). For their debut as a duo, they worked in various studios while on tour. The result is a record that evokes the nocturnal atmosphere of a late-night drive—fragmentary, a little hypnotic, a touch mystical.

The opener »Fragment« unfolds with airy, flowing textures, while »Unknown« pushes forward with driving beats and a subtle drop made for the dance floor. On »Your Light,« George Riley adds smoky, almost whispered vocals that cut through raw and immediate. Australian singer KUČKA shines on »Forever,« her airy voice wrapped in melancholic synths. “Intention” stands out as the album’s most danceable track, before “Angels” (ft. TYSON) shifts into a more soulful register.

Verses GT aims high, shows a lot, and perhaps thrives precisely on this variety—at the expense of a clear throughline. A night-drive soundtrack between club beats, striking voices, and unexpected turns.
