Post-Rock is a genre of rock music that emerged in the 1990s and combines elements of minimalism, classical music and jazz with instrumental rock music. The term was introduced by the journalist Simon Reynolds who described the genre like this: »using rock instrumentation for non-rock purposes, using guitars as facilitators of timbre and textures rather than riffs and power chords«.
