Eiko Ishibashi, Tatsuhisa Yamamoto, Joe Talia and Von Spar join forces and release two records at once

23.08.2024

The inspiration for »Album I« and »Album II« came after a performance by the Japanese musician Eiko Ishibashi at the Week-End Fest 2019 in Cologne. Together with the artists Tatsuhisa Yamamoto and Joe Talia, she met the Cologne band Von Spar, which led to a unique studio collaboration. The result of this collaboration are two limited edition LPs, which will be released on September 27, 2024 on the Hamburg label Bureau B.

Contrasts in sound

»Album I« is a collection of short, experimental pieces that combine elements of city pop, electro-jazz and fusion. It is available in a transparent red vinyl edition exclusively from HHV Records. »Album II«, on the other hand, is a long, epic track featuring edgy percussion and experimental horns. It is available as a transparent turquoise vinyl edition exclusively from HHV Records. Both editions are limited to 100 copies.

Although both records have the same origin, they are very different. Each is fascinating in its own way, and each shows that the joy of experimentation and mutual trust between the participants can lead to extraordinary virtuosity.
