Joyce Moreno gives a concert in Berlin. The Brazilian bossa nova musician will perform at the Emmaus Church in the Kreuzberg district on September 2, 2024. Moreno, who has released more than 35 albums under the name Joyce, is considered a feminist pioneer of Brazilian music. Unlike her bossa colleagues, she not only wrote about sun, beach and sexy vibes, but also about the role of women in society.

Much more than Sunshine, Beaches and Sexiness
Moreno released her first solo album in 1968. Over the years, she scored several hits – including the lullaby »Claereana«. Bossa nova stars such as Milton Nascimento and Elis Regina played her songs. After performing in Japan and working on anime soundtracks, her music was also played on European turntables in the nineties. As mentioned, she is now visiting Berlin on her current tour, organized by the XJAZZ! Festival. We are presenting the whole thing and we will also be there with a specially curated record stand.
