»Open Air Parade«, Alessandro Alessandroni and Giovanni Tommaso’s library music masterpiece, reissued

12.04.2024

Italy. Library music. The early seventies. The parameters are clear and they lead directly into black or blue, because this is the music for standing on the rocks in Capri and gazing at the ocean in a linen dress over the cliffs (and feeling hell inside). Alessandro Alessandroni is regarded ~ in professional circles ~ as nothing less than the Morricone whisperer – Giovanni Tommaso, bassist, is also a legend among fans of library music, others might know him as part of the prog-rock combo Perigeo, but if not, that’s not too bad.

Funky, funky Pfeifmusik

There are library records that sometimes wander here, sometimes there, and then off. Not this one. »Open Air Parade« has its hands in its trouser pockets, whistles, and then is above all funky.

The latest reissue of this masterpiece of library music comes with a wonderfully thick, crisp sleeve – and only on HHV Records in a limited yellow vinyl edition.
