Bass and drums: the rhythmic backbone of a band. Petter Eldh and Noah Fürbringer: the rhythmic backbone of Berlin’s jazz scene. On 30 October 2026, the Gothenburg-born musician and the Munich-born musician will release their first joint album, DRIFT, on LEITER. A grey marbled vinyl edition, limited to 300 copies, is available exclusively from HHV Records.

Hip-hop at heart

Eldh is a hip-hop artist at heart. He has already experimented with a compositional approach based on sound fragments through his project Koma Saxo, whilst with another project, ØKSE, he released music on billy woods’ Backwood Studioz. DRIFT also works with samples; the track ‘Deep Note’ features Talib Kweli and is reminiscent of Mobb Deep. Fürbringer – known for his work with the Moses Yoofee Trio – is a ‘drum machine’ who makes complex grooves seem effortless. Together, they embark on a journey of remembrance across six short tracks. Or, as Petter Eldh is quoted as saying in the press sheet: ‘cherishing memories through recreating’.

Noah x Petter live will be showing just how much this groove is made for the stage: on 30 October at the HHV Store and, following the release, on 8 November at Gretchen in Berlin.
