»Utopia« was Travis Scott’s »My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy«: an album as an epochal narrative, charged with grand gestures right down to the smallest corner. It met with mixed reviews. Our columnist, for example, didn’t like it. But those who are less sceptical or even fans will find all the strengths of the rapper from Houston on »Utopia«: turn-up and come-down in a constant, reciprocal pull, a threatening atmosphere, catchy flows and beats, beats, beats. The feature list reads like a who’s who of contemporary R&B and rap: Beyoncé, The Weeknd, Future, 21 Savage, Drake and others take the mic.
Now the vinyl edition of »Utopia« is finally going to be released. A blue vinyl edition limited to 750 copies will be available exclusively from HHV Records in Germany.
